Facilities
Recent facility developments include a new Senior Library, the Sixth Form Centre and the Sports Facility.
SENIOR LIBRARY
The Library is located in the heart of the Senior School and adjacent to the Sixth Form Centre. It is a light and airy space conducive to private study. There are several networked computers and wifi access for laptop users, tables with comfortable chairs and sofas and armchairs for more relaxed reading. The Library subscribes to several publications, including some specifically for A Level students, and houses a growing Careers Library, including University Prospectuses alongside books giving advice about pre and post 16 choices, gap years, entry to Universities abroad and guides on writing the best personal statement. We use resources provided by this company www.How2Become.com which are available to all pupils.
There is a large fiction section and in the non-fiction section there are plenty of books which allow for wider reading or research around the subject of choice. The Senior Library is available for use by all Senior and Sixth Form students.
Events in the Senior Library include the ‘Book Buzz Breakfast’, the annual Inter-House Book Quiz and Carnegie Shadowing, where a group of pupils follow the work of the judges of the Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Children’s Literature by reading the shortlisted books, posting reviews of the books on the national website and discussing the positives and/or negatives of each book with the Library Manager and the English Department.

SIXTH FORM CENTRE
Study Room
Sixth Form students have a dedicated Study Room on the top floor of the Sixth Form Centre. It is equipped with over 40 ergonomically designed work stations, many with phone/laptop charging sockets, offering individual space to work and there are computers and wi-fi throughout. There is also a sound-proofed meeting room where collaborative work can also take place.
Common Room
On the ground floor of the Sixth Form Centre students have their Common Room. This large area has plenty of sofas and chairs for relaxation as well as a games area, student lockers and storage areas. Students are also able to make use of the kitchen area with its own dishwasher, toasters, kettles and breakfast bar.
SPORTS FACILITY
The Peterborough School's Sports Facility was officially opened in September 2012 by Olympic rowing heroine and gold medal winner at the London 2012 games, Katherine Grainger MBE.
The Facililty's main hall is 610 square metres in size, features an indoor climbing wall and has capacity for four badminton courts. The hall can be curtained into sections and one side carries the indoor cricket nets. Activities can be watched from the viewing area in the lobby.
The Facility also houses modern changing and showering amenities and a spacious storage area of 75 square metres ensures all equipment is kept safely and on hand for use in the main hall.
Fitness Suite
The fully equipped fitness suite is another impressive element to the Facility. State-of-the-art rowing machines, treadmills, stair climbers and static bikes line up next to a wide selection of free weights and barbells.
