Taster Trips for Years 7 and 8
In the Summer term, accompanied by members of the Modern Foreign Languages Department, Year 7 and 8 pupils have the opportunity to travel to France or Germany to experience a four-day residential taster trip.
In France, the group has recently spent time on the beautiful Opal Coast where they enjoyed wholesome French cuisine and various activities. In addition to relaxing, the pupils conversed in French and learnt about the practical application of their classroom lessons: reading menus and following travel directions for example.
After travelling on the Eurotunnel, the group stayed in Draps and visited a chocolate factory in Beusssent, shopped in Le Touquet, went on the Opalaventure High Ropes Course and visited the Sea Life Centre in Boulogne-sur-Mer. In addition, they made crepes, had lunch on a beach and made their way round the huge hypermarket in Boulogne.
Next year's trip will be to Germany - the trips are alternated each year so that all students have the opportunity to visit both countries.
